Design 873 Versatile


This unique looking motorsailer was designed for the famous yachtsman, Harold S. Vanderbilt. This would be Vanderbilts first foray back into yachting in over ten years. The boat was built of wood by Simms Brothers of Dorchester, Massachusetts and launched in 1950.

Versatile was designed as a robust sea going yacht. Powered by twin G.M. diesels of 185 hp each, her cruising range under power is 1,750 nm at 10 knots.
